Rewarding our valuable workforce at MiCare

MiCare is proud to be a values-based organisation.  Our unique ‘Eden Alternative philosophy’ encourages staff to foster positive workplace relationships empowering them to contribute best practices in quality care and strive to eliminate the plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom in our valued clients. It also makes working at MiCare very rewarding!

We reward our workforce by supporting them:

  • achieve better work/life balance
  • with professional development opportunities
  • to enjoy generous salary packaging tax benefits
  • with discounts via an employee wellness portal.

Our valuable staff works full-time, part-time, or on a casual basis. The ability to work from home or hybrid is accessible to specific roles. Flexible work arrangements, including purchase leave and ADOs, is available through the approval process.  Promotions, government bonuses, allowances, and scholarship awards are other ways we reward the MiCare team. The Menno Van Ruyven Memorial Scholarship Award is open to all eligible employees annually and the winner receives an educational scholarship of up to $10,000. MiCare has developed an employee wellness portal enabling employees to receive discounted offers and this year ‘The Good Guys’ will be added to this growing list.

MiCare’s not-for-profit, Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) status means that staff can receive generous salary packaging benefits. General living expenses such as the mortgage, rent, groceries, and petrol, up to the value of $15,900 can be tax-free. It’s more for staff living in regional areas. Setting up a Meals entertainment card, up to the value of $2,650 is an ideal way to pre-plan quality time at a restaurant or enjoy unforgettable holidays with family and friends. A novated lease is also available.
