King’s Day (Koningsdag) is an orange-filled celebration held annually for the king’s birthday on 27 April. It is renowned for being one of the biggest and most colourful festivities in the Netherlands. Oningsdag (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkoːnɪŋzdɑx]) or King’s Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Celebrated on 27 April (26 April if the 27th is a Sunday), the date marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander.

We served on the King’s Day as it would not be complete without authentic Dutch Cuisine and Beer. Pomme Frites, Tompouce, Raclette, Krokketen and typical Dutch sandwiches are just a few of the items to explore at the festival.
