MiCare’s promotion for recruiting volunteers

MiCare fosters a sense of community involvement by offering a variety of visiting opportunities. These visits are more than just social events; they create an environment where stories of impact are shared. This sharing is crucial as it emphasizes the significance of community participation. Each story told is a testament to the power of community and serves as a motivator for others to get involved. By highlighting these opportunities through MiCare, we underscore the critical role that community involvement plays in making a positive difference.

On the 8th, 9th, and 10th, the Queensland volunteer team set up a promotional stall aiming to recruit new volunteers.  With our banner, MiCare tablecloth and other promotional items such as booklets, information pamphlets, MiCare cups and MiCare bags, we intended to attract individuals for a friendly chat.  Our goal was to spark interest in potential volunteers, fostering a culture of giving back and making a difference by spending a minimum of 1 hour per fortnight with lonely or isolated elderly individuals.

Social Support Group

I attend the MiCare Social Support Group to connect with people, share a nice meal, and enjoy the company—I would truly miss it if I couldn’t attend. I look forward to the bus outings, as they give me the chance to socialise with others. The MiCare Social Support Group makes a big difference in my life. It gives me a reason to get up in the morning, stay active, and most importantly, have wonderful conversations with everyone. I chose MiCare after carefully considering different providers, and I’m very happy with my decision. My Home Care Package case manager at MiCare is always helpful and keeps in regular touch with me, which I really appreciate. I also enjoy living at MiCare Village in Carrum Downs, with the convenience of having the doctor and shops right next door.
