Afghan social event

MiCare’s Migrant service team members, settlement caseworkers Saied Rezawi and Ava Raku, over the past few months, found that many of the Afghan clients were facing social isolation. They spoke to a few families and this problem seems to have raised concerns among the family members. To resolve this issue, MiCare’s team put together a gala evening for the families to come together and have fun.  On May 26, they invited several families residing across the Inner and South-East suburbs of Melbourne to gather for an evening of meeting one another, sharing a delicious Afghan dinner and listening to the playing of the Hazaragi dambura.

This was a great way for the families to meet their community and make new friends. The families enjoyed their time and hoped to have these events in the future to strengthen their community relations.
