Dear MiCare Avondrust staff,
On behalf of our mother Corry Roodenburg, Anita and I, we would like to express our deepest gratitude, thanks and appreciation to all the MiCare Avondrust team for your professionalism, respect and care of mum during her time in permanent low care/palliative care. In our conversations with mum and our interactions with staff since November 2019 we have often warmly talked about and felt supported, cared for and respected. Mum felt safe, comfortable and "at home" in her final moments, she maintained her dignity and independence all the way through to her passing.
In a time when there is no "normal" the MiCare Avondrust team made it as normal as possible for mum, they essentially took on our support roles when we were unable to visit for weeks on end and cocooned her and the other Elders from COVID-19. The work MiCare do every day has many challenges but this year has obviously had significant extra challenges. With moving into a new facility and COVID-19, PPE gear and the stress that comes with all this, the team continued to provide the same very high level care, well done to everyone!
Our thanks and gratitude will always be with the MiCare Avondrust team. Every single one of you makes a difference in the lives of the Elders and their families every single day. You are valued, appreciated, respected and thanked by Anita and I and we wish all of you well for the future in the "new normal" !
We have also expressed our thanks with a floral arrangement located at the main entrance to MiCare Avondrust.
Our deepest thanks,
Anita & John Roodenburg
