A MiCare Respite Short Stay gives relief to the carer and allows them to take a break. There are different options for respite: help at home, day programs, emergency and residential respite care. Please note that for our residential MiCare Respite Short Stays, a waiting list may apply. Respite Care can be provided at home, at a centre, such as a Social Support Group or in a residential aged care home.
To receive respite care in a residential aged care home, you will need to be assessed by your local Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) or (ACAS). To learn more about Respite Short Stays at MiCare please see our flyer below.
