Avondrust Lodge

Overview

Avondrust Lodge is a luxurious three-storey state-of-the-art home located in Carrum Downs with easy access to cosmopolitan Dandenong and the gateway to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Our home consists of 10 small households with 12 Elders. All Elders have a private room with an ensuite bathroom. Each Household can accommodate couples with rooms with adjoining doors. We take pride in building relationships with our Elders.  Registered Nurses and care staff are at our home 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we ensure that care is being delivered at the highest standard at all times to every Elder.

Avondrust has been architecturally designed to cater to our Elders’ ongoing needs. All rooms are equipped with bariatric hoist capabilities, with some rooms having fall detection flooring.  Clinical equipment is kept in purpose-built hubs and is not visible to our Elders and visitors.  All rooms have a smart TV that screens our daily activity programs, dining menus, and general information.  WiFi is available via TV and personal devices. Each household has bright, spacious dining and lounge areas, with easy access to either courtyards or balconies.  Communal areas are large and open allowing space for activities and functions.

About Avondrust Lodge

The Lifestyle team organizes and coordinates activities, events, and outings. We also have many volunteers who provide support.  Lifestyle programs for the day are screened on the Smart TV or in each household dining room.

The activities take place in the Activities Room or in the common sitting areas and weather permitting, in the outside courtyards.  The program includes activities such as games like bingo, rummikub and sjoelen, arts and crafts, cards, music, coffee mornings, group discussions, happy hour, flower arranging, exercises and physical games, and scenic bus drives, and other outings.

Specific Events are celebrated to reflect the cultural heritage of our Elders who live in our Homes. This is a great opportunity for families and grandchildren, who are always welcomed, to get to know other traditions. To celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, we provide areas where you can invite your family and friends.

Our kitchen provides a four-week seasonally adjusted menu. Our menu provides meals reflective of the many cultural groups we have living within our home.

Our Elders are actively involved in menu planning and our menu is reviewed by our dietitian, Manager, and Chef.

Rooms

Classic Room

Each room is 25.8sqm and is well appointed with a king single bed, large wardrobe, bedside table, upholstered bedhead and wall lamp, and 42” smart television.  All rooms have a stylish bay window sitting nook and their own air conditioning, heating, and fan for personal comfort.

Deluxe Room

Each room is 25.8sqm and beautifully appointed with a king single bed, large wardrobe, bedside table, upholstered bedhead and wall lamp, and 42” smart television.  Rooms are filled with an abundance of natural light and a bay window sitting nook. All rooms have their own air conditioning, heating, and fan for personal comfort.

Premium Room

Our contemporary, Premium Rooms are 32.8sqm with stunning views of the surrounding areas, all with large private ensuites. Each room is beautifully appointed with a king single bed, large wardrobe, bedside table, upholstered bedhead and wall lamp, designer wing chair and guest chair, coffee table and buffet with concealed fridge, and 42” smart television.  Rooms are filled with an abundance of natural light and a bay window sitting nook. All rooms have their own air conditioning, heating, and a fan for personal comfort.

Admission:

We make your stay with us as easy as it can be with our dedicated ‘Move In’ service to take care of the necessities so that you can focus on settling in. This includes:

• Testing and tagging of electrical appliances
• Quality labelling of all clothing
• Optional services for telephone, wifi, and an in-room fridge console
