The event was open to 741 Retirement Village residents and local community with approximately 50 people in attendance.
Dogs are known to improve one’s physical and mental health, as well as reduce stress. We humans are just happier with our furry canine friends! Owners and their dogs at Ozdogs recently came to visit us at Overbeek Lodge in Kilsyth. There were dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes and personalities.
Commenced in March this year the program is part of a broader outreach settlement service in the City of Melton.
Up in sunny Queensland we were able to round up enough volunteers to help us run the coffee shop at Prins Willem Alexander.
Most recently we have commenced a 7 week version of this program for members within the newly arrived Syriac community. The program runs at St Albans Community Centre on Thursday evenings and has received crucial funding and support through the Brimbank Council community grants program and the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion.

Our Lifestyle team over at Margriet Manor in Kilsyth recently took our Elders out on a day trip to Willow Creek Farm in Chirnside Park to interact with a variety of different (and very cute!) farm animals including a miniature horse, a rooster, and a donkey.
