The trip was run by our friends at Doxa, in partnership with other members of the RAD group – Spectrum, Melbourne City Mission, Western Young People’s Independent Network (WYPIN), Maribyrnong Youth Services and Western Bulldogs Community Foundation.
Our Lifestyle team over at Margriet Manor in Kilsyth recently took our Elders out on a day trip to Willow Creek Farm in Chirnside Park to interact with a variety of different (and very cute!) farm animals including a miniature horse, a rooster, and a donkey.
Participants were aged between 10 and 21 and were referred by MiCare, Western Young People’s Independent Network, Westerns Bulldogs Community Foundation, Spectrum, Brimbank Youth Services, and Maribyrnong Youth Services.
Our Elders worked in pairs to put together an early afternoon feast of savoury zucchini muffins and vanilla sponge cupcakes. The zucchini was grown especially by one of our Elders, Harold, from our backyard vegetable garden right here at Margriet Manor.
