Home Care Advisors (2 positions) 

The Role:

The main focus of the position of Bilingual Home Care Advisor is to ensure that the MiCare client's quality of life is enhanced through their relationship with MiCare. You're excellent interpersonal skills will enhance MiCare's position as a provider of choice particularly for migrant communities.

Location: Kilsyth or Carrum Downs (2 positions)

Hours: 3 days/week or 22.8 hours over 4 days

You will provide:

  • Excellent client/customer service 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An eye for detail, thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Flexibility in handling multiple tasks
  • Understanding of and empathy with the needs of CALD communities
  • Have a solid understanding of Commonwealth Government Home Care Package funding
  • An ability to communicate effectively with Management, Care Advisors, Support Workers, Service providers and Clients.
  • Victorian Drivers licence   

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Diploma level in Health or Community Services
  • Sound knowledge of home care sector
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Second language highly regarded in particular Greek, Italian, Cantonese, Mandarin or Dutch

Home Care Intake Manager 
 
The Role:

The Home Care Intake Manager position has been established to centralise the intake for the Home Care Package Program and Commonwealth Home Support Program and to ensure the smooth operation of MiCare direct care service coordination. This role is pivotal to the success of the community services division through ensuring clients and referrers have an initial positive experience of their interactions with MiCare and the advice and support provided to engage with MiCare as their chosen service provider.

Staff Management

  • Appoint new staff (subject to budget allowances and Senior Management approval)
  • Identify training needs of staff and monitor the completion of the Aged Care Channel programs.
  • Supervise service coordination staff and ensure appraisals are carried out and staff development programs implemented

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with relevant agencies and networks and promote MiCare Home Care
  • Foster, develop and sustain community links through participation in MiCare's promotional activities.

Quality of Care

  • Provide a responsive, person centred and flexible intake service to clients who are waitlisted for a Home Care Package.
  • Ensure documentation is completed and disseminated to new clients
  • Initiate planning meetings with Service Coordinators to provide support and monitor team performance
